rickoz Posted May 23, 2014 ID:833323 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Hopefully somone can explain to this new user - v 2.0.1.1004I have Scan for rootkits enabled under Detection and Protection but when I check the logs of my AUTOMATED scheduled scans it shows Scan for rootkits is disabled yet if I manually run a Threat scan it shows as enabled.Does Scan for rootkits work in real-time or only during MANUAL run scans? Thanks. Firefox Posted May 23, 2014 ID:833327 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Hello and You have to enable the scan for rootkits in your scheduled scan as well. Open Malwarebytes, click on Settings, Click on Automated Scheduling Now click on your scheduled scan then click Edit and on the window that comes up you have to click on Advanced Window should look like this with all those options (see section Schedule Options) Below is what you should see.... daledoc1 Posted May 23, 2014 ID:833328 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Hi: EDIT: OOPS! Darn, I didn't get a popup to tell me you had replied, Firefox. SORRY!! @Rickoz: Do you want to have ARK enabled? If so, then you might look at my screen cap, too, showing that setting enabled for the scheduled scan?(NOTE: you can ignore the rest of my settings -- I was just trying to illustrate the ARK setting) There have been several reports of some Advanced Settings not being consistently honored, for example:https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=148798https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=148773 However, you might want to check to be sure your scheduled scan settings also include ARK (anti-rootkit) -- see screen cap. Also, it looks as if you aren't yet running the current build -- it is being rolled out gradually after its release a few days ago.You can either wait for it to be provided via the internal updater, or you can clean upgrade: MBAM Clean Removal Process 2.x I will now turn you back over to Firefox's expert help. Let us know if this resolves your issue, daledoc1
rickoz Posted May 23, 2014 Author ID:833343 Share Posted May 23, 2014 Hi Firefox and daledoc1 - THANK YOU for your quick replies and I think you have both solved the root-kit issue for me. I was totally unaware of the ADVANCED tab and its settings in the EDIT function of ADVANCED SCHEDULING . I have now ticked it and will see how it goes in a few days of automated schedule runs THANK you both, rickoz
