Actually, you've come to the right place - Welcome! The paid version of MBAM is really good, as it has an active protection module. While no program is infallible, I've found the folks here to be really sharp and on the ball. There are frequent database updates, the forums are well-supported, and everyone is friendly.

Ah, well the point is moot for the moment - My main system died a nasty horrible death of either the PSU or Mobo variety, and it's going to be weeks before I have funds to fix it.

I run Win7 with MBAM, AVG, and have a full Untangle box running behind my router. Lately I've been less than pleased with AVG's performance. Even on my dual-core system (with 6gb ddr2 1066) it tends to bog things down. Looking through this thread I see some alternatives worth trying.

Seamonkey sells shirts?! /goestobuyone If I could want a feature out of chrome, it'd be to save tabs like firefox does. And when I first started using it, it was whip-fast. Now its slow, so I'm less inclined to use it.
