  1. Just to let you know. Yesterday I downloaded WinClean from Microsoft. When I ran it, and looked at the results, I happened to see some files listed as Win32/FakeDef. So I am pursuing that. Unfortunately they are saying I need to get a clean copy of Windows Defender to fix the problem. Anyway if I do get the problem fixed would you like me let you know how it was done?
  2. Okay. Thank you for taking all the time you have in trying to help. I will not trouble you any longer.
  3. One more thing. I don't know if this part of the problem, but every time I sign in on a web site that requires a password, I get the message asking if I want to save the password or not. No matter what I click on, yes, not for this site, or just X out, it still asks the next time I go to that web site.
  4. I did what you asked. No change. I did a searcher of my comp, and there still are some elements of chrome and firefox. I tried to delete them but couldn't. Should I reinstall them and then uninstall them?
  5. I tried to download MS Essentials, but because I have Win 8.1 MS wont let me. They said I already have the new one "Win Defender". I took out Trend and started Defender. I did do a complete system check, and it showed the comp was clean. I started IE and did not have the messages come up. Then I did do a restart, opened IE, and the messages were back.
  6. To make sure I do this right, yes, please give me the steps to temporarily uninstall Trend, and install MSE. Thanks
  7. Here is all the data. The FRST did not create an additional log (Addition.txt). I am assuming that the reason is, it is not the first time running it. JRT.txt AdwCleanerS3.txt EsetText.txt FRST.txt
  8. Actually I should have said ESET was in the middle of steps you had me do the first time. I just thought that it was one of the steps I should do.
  9. Yes, when I was going through the steps again that you asked me to do, downloading ESET was one of them. I actually just removed ESET before reading your post. I have run TFC.exe, rebooted, and still have the problem. Yes I would agree with you. I would think with everything you have asked me to do, it would have fixed the problem. Will await your reply.
  10. Here is all the info. Should I click the FIX on FRST? mbar-log-2014-05-09 (08-36-27).txt system-log.txt JRT.txt AdwCleanerR3.txt AdwCleanerS2.txt FRST.txt Addition.txt Shortcut.txt
  11. Sorry for the delay. The post did not show up in my E-Mail account like it has. I will do this the testing tomorrow, and get back to you.
  12. I saved it yesterday, and have attached here in a zip file. PM Logfile.zip
  13. I did as you ask. When I filtered by access denied it came up with a real long list of them. I could not tell if anything was added to the list when I tried to change the search provider. I was able to remove Bing, and just have Google, which I hadn't been able to. What should I exactly look for to fix?
