  1. I have just update to version and noticed this problem. Why change it? It ought to minimize to the task bar like everything else. On the task bar you can see it and its 1 click to view it. In the system tray you cant see it and it requires 3 clicks to do anything a retrograde step
  2. It seems to be working fine now. I have not done anything except do manual updates. I think it was working if you gave it long enough, it went from a few seconds to update to minutes. As I say its working again in seconds now. This seems to imply it was malwarebytes issue and not any infection. As a check I used AVG and Spybot and Microsoft malicious tool and nothing was found.
  3. I had the same problem yesterdays then it appeared to be fixed. Now I have the same problem again i.e. manual update does not work. Windows says Malware bytes not responding.
  4. still nothing... why would anyone pay to use Malwarebyres with support as poor as this?
  5. I am not worried, I got round the issue. You seem to be looking at this from the one instance reported, what happens if you cannot restore something that is really needed? The fact you do not even get an error message from malwarebytes giving information on why the files cant be restored isnt very good either. If its possible that important files might need to be restored the problem needs fixing, maybe not immediately if its that difficult but you should at least post something to keep users informed, there is nothing worse than being ignored and before you tell me I am not being ignored the only time there is an update is when I make a post.
  6. Rich Matteo suggested I post here to get the issue with quarantined files not restoring looked at and hopefully fixed. Is anyone looking into this?
  7. if anyone is still having issues with being uable to restore the quarantined files I solved the issue by doing a windows restore (windows 7, it restores the missing file) then uninstalling/reinstalling malwarebytes (the restore seems to mess up malwarebytes). only takes a few minutes. Make sure you restore the system from before you had the problem. Regarding my comment about evading the issue. What I meant was that the real problem was that the quarantined files could not be resotred and that was not being addressed. As far I can tell its still not. Quite why a know problem is being ignored I dont know. Anyway I have now posted on the general forum, maybe something will happen now.
  8. see this link for more under false positives http://forums.malwar...howtopic=110016 this was my post about the problem I had this problem, the following 2 files were quarantined and show up on the quarantined page. After finding they were false positives I treis to restore them. The frist one restores, the second will not and remains as quarantined. I am running the Windows 7 with the latest corrections, version on malware bytes is 1.61.0.1400, database v2012.05.18.01, fingerprints 326170 C:\Windows\System32\DFDWiz.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-d..ostic-user-resolver_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_c50b5b3967029178\DFDWiz.exe (Trojan.FakeAlert) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully. So how do I get the file back, apart from doing a windows restore and hoping it does it? ------ I solved the issue by doing a windows restore then uninstalling Malwarebytes and reinstalling it.
  9. Seems to me that not being able to restore a quarantined file is a bug in Malwarebytes that needs fixing. Saying the file is not really needed and pointing users to a .RAR file in a previous post, which I dont think can be opened with a standard windows system (7 in my case) although I could be wrong on this, seems to be evading the real issue.

  11. The file bitsadmin.exe was flagged as a trojan so I quarantined it. From another post it seems this is a false positive so I tried to restore the file but it will not. I clicked on the quarantined entry, it was highlighted and then I clicked restore. The quarantined entry disappears like is has been restored. The file is not restored. If I then click on another tab e.g. logs then click back on the quarantined tab the file is still shows as a quarantined trojan. How do I restore it? I ran version 1.50.1.1100 when I tried to restore
  12. thanks for the prompt reply. I assume its is a false positive so I do not have a problem? Being a bit curious (a lot actually) do you have anymore info on why its shows positive? thanks again
  13. I have just bought a samsung R530 and have exactly the same issue as icekool i.e. failsafe fakealert is flagged on the same file. The file is attached as requested in an earlier post. If you need anything else I can either post it or email if you let me have an address. In addition I managed to start the instalation but stopped it so I do not know if anything untoward has happened. If it has would malwarebytes pick it up? Something else that may help is that I have also scanned with AVG Free and Spybot and neither found a problem. Windows Malicious Software removal tool did not pick it up either. Hope someone can help Thanks FailSafeFactoryInstaller_1017.zip
