  1. It is still scanning clear, I believe it's resolved. Thank you for the help.
  2. I think resetting Chrome cleared it out, but it was set right back on when it sync'd to Chrome's servers. What I don't understand is how it "sync'd" when I didn't restart Chrome. Oh well - maybe it's still an issue.
  3. It remains clean - so I think it's addressed. I am still unclear on how it was going away on clean-up and coming back without starting Chrome. If it remains clean until morning, I will assume it's cleared up.. Thank you for the help - I will update if/when it re-appears or in the morning. Jim
  4. OK - I believe I know what this was. My startup says open a blank tab in Chrome, but if I choose to open a list of tabs - Google and mysearchdial.com were listed (as above). So even though I don't open those pages - it's always in my preferences and MWB was triggering on it. I switched to open pages, removed the mysearchdial.com page, then switched back to blank tab. I am now re-running the scan. I will update once I see something.
  5. It's coming back still - but I may have found it. 1st - it is in the preferences file highlighted my MWB. Editing it I see where mysearchdial.com is in the startup_urls. i plan to edit out the references to mysearchdial - unless you have a better way to clean the preferences...? Will wait to hear from you.
  6. I manually reset everything in Chrome and deleted the profile. When I run Chrome I sync to my gmail account. It says Signed in as Jim.Husband@gmail,com The change comes back without me starting Chrome back up. Exit Chrome.Scan - Clean.Scan - Nothing.Scan - Infection back.
  7. No - but it does keep coming back after being removed. Clearly something is active and making changes.
  8. Renamed the directory to 'Backup Default', infection reappeared: and the directory listed is the Default (not Backup Default).
  9. Not sure why I was typing 'error' -- revised: OK - re-reset all setting, cleared all Items (Cache/Cookies/etc) from beginning of all time. Closed Chrome, Scanned and cleared the infection with MWB. Re-scanned w/ MWB and the infection is back. Chrome was not running at any point between the Scans.
  10. OK - re-reset all setting, cleared all Items (Cache/Cookies/etc) from beginning of all time. Closed Chrome, Scanned and cleared the error with MWB. Re-scanned w/ MWB and the error is back. Chrome was not running at any point between the Scans.
  11. Reset all Chrome settings, Cleared Malware in MWB - ran scan and it was clean. Restarted Chrome, re-ran MWB scan - and it's back. I am unsure of it's coming back with Chrome or just after a few minutes.
  12. Completed. I then re-ran MWB Threat Detection and the problem remains. Fixlog.txt
