The following procedure should only be used after ensuring that the computer is clean from any malware threats or infections and is running well. This procedure will delete ALL old System Restore Points and then allow you to create a new clean one.

Click on START and right click over Computer and choose Properties.

On the left side there is a link for System protection - click on that link and if the User Account Control prompts for permission to continue click the Continue button.

You should see an image similar to the one below

Click the checkmark on your Local Disk (C:) to uncheck and you will then get a warning like the one shown below. Click on the Turn System Restore Off button.

Then click on the Apply button on the bottom right.

Then place a check mark back on your Local Disk (C:) and again click on the Apply button on the bottom right.

Now you should see a Create button. Click on the Create button and give it a name such as "System Clean - malware threats removed" and click the Create button.

The system will now create a new System Restore Point using that name you just gave it. You should get a message that the restore point was successfully created.

Now click the OK button and you're done.
