I have the same issues on win7-64 sp1. MB 2.x crashes my machine, while scanning 'file objects'. Sometimes it bluescreens the PC, other times it 'finishes' but leaves the machine in an inoperable state, requiring a HW reset to recover. Although the details vary, the crash rate is 100% - every attempt to scan. As suggested, I did use the removal tool, rebooted and did a clean install. No improvement. I have disabled 2.x and will have to revert to 1.x.
