Malware Samples

Hi all,

 

 

I am a computer science student and i am carrying out an investigation into Botnets. I need samples of well known botnet malware (storm, speye, zeus, koobface etc) in order to observe their behaviour.

 

 

Does anyone know where i can get these?

Access to samples is given only to members of the Malware Hunters group and other experts.

Thanks for the info. How do i go about gaining an "invitation" or through "promotion"? I study network security, i hold a BEng and several certs, these samples are to help further my research.

Hi:

 

AFAIK, it's "by invitation", after a period of demonstrated participation by submitting samples.

Those links explain it.

And/or you may wish to PM one of the Research Center team members/moderators.

If that is the case, you SHOULD be able to find samples yourself.  Malware is all to easy to obtain.

 

It is one thing to study COMSEC and INFOSEC, it is another matter to analyze malware behaviour.  I suggest you contact the the university where you obtained your degree and discuss your objectives and maybe get a referral for malware research group using the university contacts for vetting.

 

Malwarebytes is not your source.  One must realize that this forum is geared towards Product Support and Malware Removal, not malware discussions or the dissemination of malware samples.
