  1. Hi, I did the scan, but the logfile just says that no malicious items were detected over and over again. Does this mean it's completely gone? It seems too good to be true!
  2. I wanted to wait to hear from you before booting the computer into the normal mode, so I just did, and the malware appears to be gone! It doesn't take over the computer anymore! THANKS!!! Is there anything else I should do, to make sure it is gone? Again, thank you so much for helping!
  3. Hi, Thanks a lot for your continued help! I followed your instructions and then ran ResetTeaTimer.exe, but it gave me a message saying that teatimer.exe and spybotsd.exe "not found" and that they "must be closed!!!" Hopefully that's what what supposed to happen?
  4. Did I do the scan correctly? Any idea what I should do? Thanks a lot for your help!
  5. Alright, thanks again for your help I followed your instructions and was able to run OTL in normal mode, but no extras.txt was produced. In my above post, extras.txt is posted, however.
  6. Hi, thanks so much for helping! Am I supposed to try to run OTL in safe mode, or in the regular mode? Sorry, but are you saying that I can't tell if the program stole data, or are you saying that it probably didn't steal data?
  7. I ran OTL and HijackThis, here are the logs:
  8. I've always been extremely careful to not get a virus, but a family member of mine who doesn't know too much about computers somehow got a virus called "System Tool2011." (He thinks it posed as a Google Earth update). I found this thread: http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?showtopic=66064, and am following the instructions, but I don't know anything about viruses so I'm wondering: 1. Is there any way to know if the program was able to steal information, like financial documents or passwords? 2. After following the guide I linked to above, is it REALLY completely gone? Or should I reinstall Windows? 3. I know that some viruses can actually infect personal files and then move to other computers, or come back later, and so forth. Is that the case with this virus? I'm kind of freaked out about this, as I have no experience with this. I would really appreciate any advice you might have I couldn't get mb installed following the instructions in the guide, system tool wouldn't allow the installer to run. So I started the computer in safe mode and installed it, then started into normal mode, renamed the program executable to iexplore.exe and was able to run it. It didn't find any problems, even though the system tool window was running right next to it! What should I do?
