  2. My uncles computer has been running slow and found that he had the mywebsearch virus. I ran Malwarebytes and it found and removed 25 but still hanging and CPU maxing out. PS: Sorry for the lack of info, not here long and computer is maxing out and hanging it's a pain typing dds.txt attach.txt mbam-log-2012-10-16 (11-48-41).txt mbam-log-2012-10-16 (12-16-18).txt
  3. Sorry for the double post but i'm unable to edit my post. It actually just appears to be a problem within the Malwarebyte's site. Any other site which has .php works fine
  4. Hi, I just got my computer back from the repair shop to fix the thermal trip people on the processor (was caused by the heatsink!) but now Avast! won't run on start up (no biggy) but as Malwarebyte's wouldn't update to the latest version or update the database (something to do with the process already being used?) I decided I would go and redownload and install it from fresh to see if that would fix it but now it seems when I go to click on anything .php related Firefox wants me to download it. I've searched on Mozilla's support trying to find something similar but with no luck. I was wondering if anyone else here has had this problem before or knows how I would go about fixing it? Thanks
  5. Hi, Since last night i've been having problems trying to load Twitter, Facebook and Google. They all seem to be intermittent. Like if one doesn't load they all don't and if one works they all work. But Google can load (slowly) whilst Twitter and Facebook doesn't. I've done a virus scan and found nothing, I restarted my modem/router and I lost my internet for about 15 minutes but restarting it again fixed. Just seems weird cos one minute they work and the next they don't :/
  6. Yeah, it's going to be hard to find the cause of the problem but I would like to get it running rather than getting a new pc as it's pretty good (or was until friday ) might not be the most powerful computer but does everything I need. 1: I don't think the processor is damaged as it wouldn't have worked or at least of shown some kind of error? 2: I can't see any evidence of a failure however it's pretty dark but don't think there is from what i'm seeing. 3: I've used 2 different power supplies, both with different watt's but no luck. The one which came with the computer is a 420W and the new one I got was a 680W The computer was fully cleaned of dust as a result of this problem but it never fixed the problem. Thanks
  7. Hi, On Friday night my 2 year old computer whilst playing a game sort of made a bang (it sounded like a bang but might not have been) and then the fans started to sound like a vacuum because they was going faster in order to keep the computer cool however a minute later the computer shut down and everytime to turn it on the fans kick in fast to keep it from overheating and the computer stays on for about 5 minutes roughly before shutting down again. Once it shuts down if you give it a minute and turn it on you hear what appears to be a warning sound then an error on screen saying 'Warning: Processor Thermal Trip' then loads but of course, after a few minutes it shuts back down because of an overheat. I've given it a good dusting but did nothing so I went out and bought a new fan, power supply with a better fan intergrated and thermal paste fitted them but still no luck and not quite sure what to do as it can't be the processor as it would load the computer at all. I've emailed Intel and Advent (the computer manufacturer) to see if they might know the problem or if they've even heard of this before, but no reply as of yet. I think it might be the motherboard but i'm not a computer tech or really know much about computers when it comes to hardware so wouldn't know where to look for one which will suite my computer which is a Intel Q8200 with DDR2 memory but are nearly all DDR3 now I'm really out of idea's as I don't know what to do or try next. All kinds of help is kindly appreciated Thanks
  8. I updated to 1.60.1.1000 just now and now it says the database is outdated by 25 days (13th January), even thought I already updated previously today without problems. And now when I update, it successfully updates then 2 minutes later it's back to the v2012.01.13.04 database again.
  9. Problem is, I did update all my software and that which needed updating. Also I ain't a paying customer, I'm on the trial but once it runs out (4 days) I will be buying it!
  10. I got it to work, I managed to contact IGN via twitter (DM) who gave me an ip and ign.com to put in my host file! Now I can finally look up some new game info
  11. For about 6 or 7 days now i've been unable to connect to IGN. Ever since their servers went down for about 5 minutes. Everytime I visit IGN.com all I get is "the connection was reset whilst page was loading". This happens on all browsers but since I only use Firefox, I contacted the support and was told to do a number of things which included, a dnsflush, clear recent history, cookies, select no proxy and do a tracert to look for errors but there was none and nothing has worked. So I was wondering if theres anything you could help me with, maybe something Firefox hasn't thought off? I've even tried turning the superhub and PC off for an hour in hope that may do something... which it didn't. It could be that they have a new server or something and my DNS are VERY slow at updating? Thanks
  12. Sorry for the double post but I just did a full scan (first one for over a year) and found a Trojan.Agent.PE3 (whatever that is) which is located in AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\51\ folder. Maybe this could be the cause to Java opening up when I visit minecraftplanet? I've had a few Trojan.Agent viruses over the years but never seen one with .PE3 attached to it. What exact harm could this do? Considering I do alot of banking (PayPal) on this computer, I don't want my details to be at risk. Also, the reason I did a full scan was because my Firefox browser wouldn't close when I clicked on it when I had hotmail open. All the X would do was flash like as if the cursor kept hovering over it and when I opened the task manager (processes) I noticed AcroRd32.exe was running (still is) and thought I may have been infected but a quick scan never picked anything up and all the full scan found was that Trojan but i've never known AcroRd32.exe to be running unless it was open, I did recently restart my PC but never ever have been that process to be open.
  13. I was on the Steam game, Left 4 Dead 2 and joined a server when I got the ip block. Successfully blocked access to a potentially malicious website: 109.235.49.90 Type: outgoing Port: 55050, Process: left4dead2.exe Thanks
  14. Yeah, problem is when I get an message saying a update is ready to be installed it's usually when i'm busy doing something so I just leave it but then forget about it and over time it just mounts up. I have a free night tonight so i'll get busy with the window updates for starters, probably will be the one that will take the longest to install. Thanks for your help
  15. Yeah, the site loaded fine, I wasn't redirected or anything. But I do have ad-block plus and didn't have no ads which I could see which made it's way throught the plugin. I just ran the scan with the following results: There must be at least 30 window updates which I hasn't installed (stupid I know lol), Adobe Reader, Quicktime, Safari, Internet Explorer, WMP, Adobe Flash Player and Java. The problem with Java is I was told I couldn't update or install a fresh verison as I was infected with fake AV (System Tools) back early last year and as I couldn't run Malwarebyte's or Avast to remove it (kept blocking it from running) I was told to patch my version of Java on the site above but was told I couldn't update Java as it may bring back the fake AV via a new exploit. I don't know how true this is as when it comes to viruses I know nothing :/ However, I do know that Malwarebyte's saved my skin this morning by blocking whatever tried to infect me.. so the favour I can do in return is buy the pro when my trial expires (thankfully the trial reset on 1.60 helped on saving me! )
