Recommended Posts

In order to help you better, please post back with the following logs as attachments to your next reply:

  • Checkresults.txt from mbam-check
  • A couple of protection logs, if you have them
  • DDS.txt from DDS
  • Attach.txt from DDS
-------------------------------------------------

Step 1 -- Create an mbam-check log:

Download mbam-check.exe from HERE and save it to your desktop.

Double-click on mbam-check.exe to run it, it should then open a log file.

Please attach to your next reply the CheckResults.txt file which should now be located on your desktop.

Then, if you can, please also upload your 3 most recent Protection module logs:

In Windows XP, these logs are located in:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

In Windows Vista/7/8, these logs are located in:

C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs

Step 2 -- Run DDS and create 2 logs:

Please run the following scanner and send back the logs.

Download DDS from one of the locations below and save to your Desktop

dds.scr

dds.com

Temporarily disable any script blocker if your Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware has it.

How To Temporarily Disable Your Anti-virus, Firewall And Anti-malware Programs

Once downloaded you can disconnect from the Internet and disable your Ant-Virus temporarily if needed.

Then double click dds.scr or dds.com to run the tool.

Click the Run button if prompted with an Open File - Security Warning dialog box.

A black DOS console should open and run for a moment.

  • When done, DDS will open two (2) logs:
  • DDS.txt
  • Attach.txt
  • Save both reports to your desktop
  • Please include the following logs in your next reply as an attachment: DDS.txt and Attach.txt

You can ignore the note about zipping the Attach.txt file

Scan finnished with mbam took me 1 hour 45 nothing got detected btw Firefox did the things u made me download have malware on them ?

I will let someone from the staff review your logs so they can see if something on your computer may be conflicting with MBAM and causing your slow scans...

Can you post your scan log so it may also be reviewed?

This could be why it took longer.... From your log mbam-log-2014-03-29 (11-33-28).xml you had a rootkit scan enabled as well archive scanning, this in itself will increase scan times... but lets wait for a staff member to confirm....

<memory> enabled

<startup> enabled

<filesystem> enabled

<archives> enabled

<rootkits> enabled

<deeprootkit> disabled

<shuriken> enabled

<pup> enabled

<pum> enabled

@John.A:

Sorry you are having issues with slow scans.

Even though the problem might sound "the same", each computer is unique.

So, too, might be any needed measures to resolve it.

It would be a good idea if you would please start your own, new, separate post.

I'm sure the staff will be more than happy to assist you with looking into the slow scans.

So, I would respectfully ask that you please run the tools as suggested here, and then please start a new thread.

Thanks very much for your patience,

Hello everyone.

I just want to say that everything is going well for scans on my MBAM 2.0 Premium. For a Threat Scan it takes 4 Minutes. If Rootkits are enabled, it will take 6 Minutes. About 230,000 objects scanned. With MBAM 1.75 Pro it took 2 Minutes  for a Fast Scan.
