Welcome to the forums kjvbible1611 :)

After the trial expires, MBAM reverts back to the free version, and doesn't offer the real time protection of the full version. This is also the reason why it doesn't show up in your system tray anymore.
You can continue to use it as on-demand scanner, or decide to purchase the full version in order to get the real time protection and advanced features again :)

Hello, kjvbible1611:

Until Mystery returns...

1. Click on your MBAM desktop shortcut icon to open the main user interface.

2. Under the "scanner" tab (which is the one already open by default), select "perform quick scan" item, then click the blue "scan" button.

(This is all that is needed for routine scanning; Full scans are used typically only when cleaning up traces after infection, and Flash scan is available only in the PRO version.)

HTH,

I just would like to add that after point 1. you might want to go to the Update tab and click on "Check for Updates". And then perform a Quick Scan following point 2. om Daledoc1's tutorial.
Users of the free version often forget to update first :)

Thanks, Mystery, for reminding me about that step. :)
I have been running MBAM PRO exclusively, so I forgot about the need to update when running the FREE version.

1. Click on your MBAM desktop shortcut icon to open the main user interface.

2. Under the "update" tab, click on the "check for updates" button.

3. Under the "scanner" tab, select "perform quick scan" item, then click the blue "scan" button.

Best regards,

daledoc1
