  1. I also have the same problem, no web protection. Scan also only takes 15 seconds. There is something wrong. Hope there is a fix soon.

  3. I am not very computer literate and would appreciate some advice so please forgive the question. I am using am 8 year old computer running XP Pro 32 bit with SP3. My computer a Dell Inspiron I6440 has Intel® CPU T2130 @ 1.86GHz T1.58 Ghz 1.99GB of RAM I don't know if this means my computer will run the latest version of Malwarebytes or not. I currently have paid for version 2.1.8.1057. I can see that the hardware requirements for 2.2.0 are: 2048 MB RAM (64-bit OS), 1024 MB RAM (32-bit OS, except 256 MB for Windows XP) 800 MHz CPU or faster, with SSE2 technology. 20MB of free hard disk space But I don't know how to relate this to my computer. I know this is a stupid question but as I don't know even what SSE2 technology is I am rather confused. Can I safetly upgrade or should I stay with my current version please. Thanks
  4. My computer is windows XP pro with SP3 Yesterday evening I logged on and got a message about my Malwarebytes licence. It has reverted to the free version. I purchased a lifetime licence in 2011 from Cleverbridge. Why has my licence changed and how do I get the full version back please? I have the ID and key I was given at the time of purchase. Is just the case of selecting premium and entering my original information. I think i read that the information is now in a different format. If that is the case how do I get reinstate my licence.

I raised an issue here see https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/170966-malwarebytes-freezing-xp-computer/ I thought it was resolved but it is not, When I used the computer yesterday I noticed that the MWB icon was not in the notification area. This morning the computer got as far as as displaying the desktop with icons but no notification area icons were displayed and the computer locked. The only action I could take was to switch off. This evening after switching off once the start up was successful. I have disable MWB from starting with windows and the restarted the computer and all was OK. I also raised the issue about my licence and it changed correctly to life time. Now I notice that my licence details have again changed back for life time to time limited. Having done all the previous steps as in the previous issued raised what should I do now to get MWB working again.
  6. I have now set it to start with windows. The first restart it didn't start even though the box was ticked. I restarted again the this time it did automatically start. I will continue to monitor the situation. However I have noticed that my key has changed from what it was when I purchased a life time license in 2011. There also is an expiration time of 376 days to run. How do I get this changed please.
  7. Forgot to add that when running the script a message briefly showed on the screen but it was gone before I could read it.
  8. I have installed the file in normal mode as fortunately I set malwarbytes not to automatically start at boot up. I have run a malwarebyte scan and this time it did not freeze at the end of the scan. The only thing I haven't done yet is set Malwarebytes to start when I switch on the computer. I did run CCleaner earlier this month as the computer was running very slow and I may have done something but I don't know. I have also run the SERVXP.BAT file but without malwarebyte starting automatically. Should I have done this before running the batch script.
  9. Update Having set exceptions for Avast in malwarebyte I ran a scan and when I returned to the computer it was frozen and all I could was switch off.
  10. Maurice I disabled Avast and have followed the process. During the process I got an app error message of: The exception unknown software exception 0x40000015 at 0x78b2d6fd I clicked OK and continued. Version 2015.07.27.02 is installed. The GUI states that Malware and Malicious web site protection is enable. But on looking at the check results file it states Malicious Website Protection: 0 <--CAN NOT OPEN SC_HANDLE, SERVICE IS NOT RUNNING FOR: MBAMWebAccessControl Chameleon: 0 <--CAN NOT OPEN SC_HANDLE, SERVICE IS NOT RUNNING FOR: MBAMChameleon Not sure what this means only what I see in two differenct places seems to be stating different things but not being technical I am not sure. As I had an app error I am attaching the check results file so you can tell me if it is all OK. At the moment I have set Malwarebytes not to start with windows in case it has not solved the problem. Can you please tell me what to do next. Thanks
  11. Maurice After a long wait I have managed to open malwarebytes and tick the boxes not to start with windows and not to enable protection mode when starts. This has enabled me to restart the computer without malwarebytes running and all seems to be working OK. In Avast I have malwarebytes entered in field shields and web shield as previously requested. I have also run an avast scan and not problems were found. As the process you are suggesting may required some time and it is now late evening for me I will do it in the morning. Thanks for you help so far and I will report back tomorrow.
