  1. Three GUI items I have found are: 1) Dashboard - Scan Progress shows Next scheduled scan: ie; 04/09/2014 10:44:29 when the Scan Log shows the last scheduled scan started at that time, ran for 8 minutes 16 seconds and completed at 10:52:45. The next scheduled scan is in the scheduler for every day at 10:30.00am. If missed, run within 23 hours??? 2) Settings panel: All the selections on the left change color when the mouse hovers over any position in the box except the General Settings box. It only changes/executes when the mouse anywhere except in the upper left quadrant ie; upper left corner to over the "e" in settings down to the "e" in settings and back to the left side below the General Settings verbage. User may think the button is dead unless he finds the working area!!! 3) Automatic Scheduling: If no item is highlighted, you only have the Add button text in black. Edit and Remove Task are greyed out. If you check a box under Select, you still have Add in black but you also get Remove Task in black and only Edit is greyed out. Uncheck Select box and only Add is in black. Now if you click anywhere in the row except the Select column BOX itself, the entire row turns a light blue background with Add and Edit in black and Remove Task greyed out. Clicking the Select column Box turns Remove Task on(checkmark) and greys it out(no checkmark). To get the row background back to plain white, Edit a row item (you do not have to put a checkmark in the Select column Box), on the Edit Schedule panel click OK. and the light blue background will be removed. If you had checked the Box in the Select column, the checkmark would also be removed after clicking OK on the Edit Schedule window. Once you go through these items a few times, you sort of get used to them but a newbie could easily think "what were they thinking?" or "How does this work?". I sure did and I still don't understand item # 1...
  2. I had disabled Malwarebyte's Protection Module when AVG 2011 was determined to be in conflict with it. I updated to AVG 2011 to 1170 and after rebooting, and running for a few days, I updated Malwarebyte's to v1.50. Since the previous settings were retained (Protection Module NOT enabled), everything worked fine (Updates, Scans, etc.) Then I enabled the Protection Module and everything seemed fine until I did a reboot. After about 3 minutes, Windows Explorer hung IE; the mouse went "busy", the keyboard was locked out, and nothing updated in the System Tray (Network icon, Process Explorer icon, etc.). The only workaround was to power off/on and quickly open Task Manager or Process Explorer and kill AVG's Resident Shield (this kicked off a lot of activity in Process Explorer with many different processes starting again but the system returned to normal with no problems). AVG Resident Shield can then be permanently disabled on the AVG main window. -OR- As soon as Malwarebyte's Tray icon appears in the System Tray, right click on it and uncheck "Enable Protection", uncheck "Windows Startup" option and then click "Exit" and respond OK to the "Are you sure..." popup before the PC hangs. After that, the reboots were successful. AVG 8.5 and AVG 9.0 were compatible with all versions of Malwarebyte's Protection Module running. Too bad. So as of now, the User must decide whether to disable AVG's Resident Shield or Malwarebyte's Protection Module.
  3. I think they are onto something here: http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=12443 My MBAM Service shows "Automatic" for now. Although, I did try restarting the Service in Taskmgr and it didn't restore the Icon in the System Tray several times yesterday... Also, http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.p...=7038&st=20
  4. Okay. I think I fixed "[OpenEvent] Failed to perform desired action. Error code: 2" popup. I did another uninstall. Rebooted. Ran mbm-clean.exe. Rebooted. I noticed that C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\ had Ignore.dat and Rules.ref files in it. I deleted both files. Then I deleted the files in C:\Documents and Settings\UserID1\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs and C:\Documents and Settings\UserID1\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Quarantine directories. and the files in C:\Documents and Settings\UserID2\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs and C:\Documents and Settings\UserID2\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Quarantine directories. Then I re-installed v1.34. So far, repeated logoffs - logons - and switch users have worked. That's all I did. I have no idea as to why it works now. Go figure....
  5. No quirk. Logoff then Logon without a reboot. The MAW icon in the System tray will be gone and in a few minutes the [OpenEvent] popup will occur!!!
  6. Same problem. Boot - Logon - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware icon in the System tray with options to disable protection, etc. Logoff - Logon - no icon. Taskmgr shows mbamgui.exe running. Manually start Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and protection is enabled. Exit program. Taskmgr shows mbamgui.exe running. In a few minutes, the "[OpenEvent] Failed to perform desired action. Error code: 2" popup occurs. Taskmgr does not have mbamgui.exe listed anymore. Re-boot - Logon 2nd UserID - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware icon in the System tray with options to disable protection, etc. Switch Users - 1st UserID has Taskmgr showing mbamgui.exe running. In a few minutes, the "[OpenEvent] Failed to perform desired action. Error code: 2" popup occurs. Taskmgr does not have mbamgui.exe listed anymore. So, only the initial LogonID after bootup or Restart will have a functioning System Tray Icon. Interestingly, MAW will do an auto-update with no listing in Taskmgr running so other program functions are working. I have done a clean uninstall, reboot, run mbam-clean.exe, reboot, re-install twice now. No change.
