  1. Now happening on Microsoft Edge as well.
  2. Same here & Google Chrome will not load as a result:
  3. Just upgraded to WinX & experiencing the same as others here: Installed MBAE 1.08 Beta on top of version 1.07.1.1015 (& again after reboot per instructions), said something about previous version had not been fully uninstalled. Which I believe you referenced as a result of the upgrade process - in one of the three or so threads I read before landing here. Looks to be working now. Thanks to all that input
  4. I thought if the two files in question were the same files listed in the FP https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/164049-power-dvd-dll-files-found-as-threats-pritty-sure-this-is-a-fp/ then there was no reason to be concerned? They were the exact same files. Anyway yesterday, after restoring the files & a successful clean scan I deleted all application logs. I did not handle this thread very well & a little more research on my part would have negated posting @ all. For that I apologize. thank you
  5. The very same AudioFilter files from the FP :0) thank you
  6. Hi & let me apologize if this really simple & I just can't see it. Have two files Quarantined but cannot read the Vendor name nor the Date. Both columns are truncated. in Vendor all I see ...hrome.INJ & in Date ...15 1:48:42 PM Would like to know the vendor & date. I do have scan logs going back three months, do I have to search each day's scan log? The files belong to PowerDVD (CyberLink) which I realize doesn't mean anything, could be bogus. On another note I have not logged in here in 7 months or so but somehow my password got whacked. Tried to send a reset to my username which did not work, however sending a reset to my email id worked immediately. Did something happen while I was gone? Thank you
  7. Hi 1PW, Sorry for late response, I forgot to track this discussion & was waiting for an email to appear. Yes it is 64-bit OS. Guess this is the text that concerned me from FAQ Common Questions, Issues, and their Solutions - Section I Once you've started back into normal mode, reinstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, but do not enable the protection module yet But it looks like that only applies if already experiencing a freezing issue which is not the case. So I have added mbamdor.exe & mbampt.exe to the list of excluded processes in MSE. Earlier I added Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to the list of programs allowed thru Windows Firewall. Have no other Firewall in place. Going to perform a MBAM Clean Removal Process 2x & re-install (along with these steps) on the other PC now as well since I also did an upgrade months ago on it too. Am not experiencing any update issues on that PC but might as well have a clean MBAM on both. thank you, daemondog
  8. Hi, I got some help on facebook but surely should have come here. Did just an upgrade to MBAM premium a few months ago but today MBAM databases would not update & so did run the clean removal & reinstall which seems to have corrected that problem. Questions are: 1) MSE - currently I only have these files excluded in MSE: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe but looks like I should add: C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamdor.exeC:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbampt.exeis this true? & if I remember the instructions properly I thought that had to be done before activating MBAM? of course I have already activated. 2) Windows Firewall I did not have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in the Allowed Pgms for Windows Firewall. I suppose it would be a good idea to add that? thanks
  9. Well I did perform just an upgrade. Next will use the Clean Removal Process & a clean install of 2.0. See if that helps. thanks
  10. Hi, Few weeks ago I upgraded to MBAM 2.0 Premium only on the laptop, desktop still on 1.75 & neither the laptop nor desktop would enter sleep as long as they were both running. Each by themselves would enter sleep mode. After a few days went ahead & upgraded the desktop to MBAM 2.0 Premium as well & problem fixed - both PC's enter sleep mode at scheduled intervals, even while both are up. Two days ago sleep mode again affected, both computers refuse to go to sleep. If shut the laptop lid & put it to sleep then the desktop will enter sleep mode on it's own shortly after that. Is it possible that MBAM 2.0 on locally networked PC's are communicating with each other? Or are they keeping each other awake? I am almost 100% certain it is MBAM 2.0 keeping the PC's from entering sleep mode. Thank you
  11. OK, well that settles it - BD free definitely out. Many years ago I had Defender & Norton both running & apparently did not get the exclusions set properly, if I even knew to do that back then & Defender clobbered Norton. Had a heck of a time getting Norton off, did not reinstall. Certainly don't want to run into that situation again.
  12. Oh, so BD free would find MBAM files to be malicious & then you could mark them to be ignored. I'm a big Amazon shopper & have come to rely on the advice given there by reviewers. Been checking out antivirus for sale there & guess I've almost concluded that MSE is just fine. Since I've been running MSE & MBAM together (between 2 & 3 years) have yet to get infected. Perhaps I'm juts a boring web surfer. Guess I'll upgrade to MBAM 2.0 Premium & let the AV wait for another day. thanks for all your help
  13. PC Magazine gives BD free 4 stars out of 5 but some of the commentors are really angry. Here are some comments from 9 months ago, not sure if Photon is the scanning engine?: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2421252,00.asp Cilverjolt • 9 months agoDo you know if this product uses the exact engine as the paid version or a modified version? It also would be nice to have test from Av-test and Av-comparatives it's too bad. moxxey Cilverjolt • 9 months agoCilverjolt, no it does not. This Free edition is based on the previous v16/2013 engine. The Photon technology is not in the Free version. Only Bitdefender Antivirus Plus, Internet Security and Total Security received the 2014 upgrade, with the Photon technology kwkeirstead We have used this product for a number of years and have been extremely satisfied with performance and functionality. We recommend it along with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to any customer who asks about PC security. Good to know it plays well MBAM but I guess BD free is out since you had problems w/exclusions & too many negative comments after.
