  1. Just to clarify things here, pebuilder (Including UBCD4WIN) Requires an Windows XP SP1 (or higher) setup CD, or Windows 2k3 (any service pack level) to build the bartpe ISO file which is bootable from a CD, Thumbdrive or network share depending on how you configure it. You CAN build your bartpe on a running Vista\Win7 System with no problem at all, providing you do have the required source CD. In this situation, a linux build is a good choice because all you have to do is download and burn the ISO, which is easier to do when your already trying to deal with a major computer problem.
  2. I'm sure someone will get to you soon, but you should check your junk email folder to make sure the automated email is not there.
  3. I never got past the first paragraph of their TOS Agreement... In short: We can change this entire TOS agreement, without telling you and once you agree to any version of it, you agree to all future versions of it. Almost as poorly thought out as that cash for clunkers gov site with the DOD's standard network EULA.
  4. Thats the DOD's standard EULA used on all government computer networks. Doesn't make it any less creepy though to think that if this were one of those programs you blindly clicked "I Agree" on, and found out latter that you just gave away all freedom and privacy related to your web usage. Not impressed at all.
  5. Yeah, I thought "Well, everything ends up on youtube..." Sheep PONG was my favorite part, but the mona lisa shows how much free time they had.
  6. I have spybot installed and active, plus the hosts file immunization and had no trouble watching the video. It's a very cleaver use of led lights on sheep where the imitate things like PONG with the sheep. EDIT: Here's the same video on youtube.
  7. A friend forwarded this email to me today, and this is something you guys have just gotta see.
  8. This kind of thing really annoys me, so I probably did not read every word of your post the first time around. The point is that at least now we know he has been warned to make sure the machine is clean and safe to use, so it's out of our hands unless he posts for help from the Staff here. PS: I'm not "Staff" either but "I've been there and seen that", if you know what I mean.
  9. OOPS, sorry for the confusion. Please consider having these guys check to make sure your system was not compromised by the remote session with botnurse.
  10. If he does not post in a reasonable amount of time, someone from the staff should try to contact her to make sure she realizes the danger of what happened. I really hate it when people are preyed on by vultures like this.
  11. @Marcin Teasers look great, BUT... White stays white for about 5 minutes. Black, Red and Green should be options, which means you need to offset your design to allow for dark color background. A black hat would have to find it's way here as well. Certainly a fantastic idea and I'm also into graphic arts and airbrushing since I was 14, so some brainstorming might be a good thing. My mind always reads "Malware Bites", like as in teeth on a mad dog. MBAM would be the rabies shot. I may have to mok something on canvas.
  12. No one else has brought this up, so I will. By allowing them remote access to your computer, anything and everything on it could have been compromised. Any credit card info on the machine now needs to be issued new cards and there is also the chance that while he was in control of your PC he could have installed a rootkit or keylogger that collects and sends back information to any location he has chosen. What you need to do now is allow the real maywarebytes team a chance to make sure your machine is still safe to use. This forum has the best support base I've even seen, and I've been working with PC's for over 25 years. Nothing will be done FOR YOU and there is never a remote connection made. You should ask for help and the mbam team here will tell you exactly what programs to download and install to make sure there is no malicious software on your machine, personally I'm worried that he may have setup a rootkit or keyloger which means none of your data will be safe for much longer.
  13. I was referring to the search engine spiders. Example: Google.com is a member of 911cd.net and ubcd4win.com, you wont find either in the members list but you see the spiders crawling through 911cd.net all the time. We have them set to a group that does not show in the online list at ubcd4win.com. Spam Bots are a different story all together.
