Thank you, I have to admit to being a little bit daunted by this, but I will look over the info and see what I can do about making sure everything is backed up. My critical data is already done but there is more that needs to be done to lessen the impact of doing what you say. I will hopefully try and work on it tomorrow. I really miss working on my photos not to mention the mundane tasks I use the of for, but my grandson is only here for two more weeks so I don't want to miss too much time with him (long boring story)! Sorry for the delay. On the 26th, after I got the video driver updated, I tried to work on my pictuers using Adobe Bridge and Lightroom. While I was importing pictures into Lightroom I got another BSOD: Stop 0x7E After that, I didn't even turn on the computer until this morning....just had to step away. Now I'm dealing with a sick child and haven't had much time. I turned it on this morning, didn't even get to do anythng on it. It went to sleep, and I woke it up to turn it off so I could bring it out to the living to keep on eye on him while I worked on it. Got a BSOD on shutdown: (Cache_Manager stop: 0x34) On a side note, a dell rep came out yesterday to replace the keyboard, so it was actually WAS turned on yesterday, but I didn't do anything on it, and turned it back off after testing new keyboard.

After 3 hours on online chat with Dell to get my video driver updated, plus fighting with my ALT key issue....I have a new keyboard on order, and they got my video driver updated. I can't tell you how frustrated I am with them over the driver issue. I think I'm also having a problem with the AverMedia drivers (I remember seeing something about that in the logs, or the BSOD messages), so I asked him about updating those and he said I shouldn't update any drivers unless they are causing problems because that can cause the computer not boot. That's the exact opposite of everything I've ever heard. He said to give it a few days to see if the video driver update fixes the problem. Anyway, is there anything I should try and run now? Funny (not!) but I'm on vacation, and this is how I've spent it! Eeeeeerrrrrrghh!! I really appreciate your help and patience though...really! Weedy

>sigh< I ran the tweaking program (and argh! Didn't run as administrator) It got to the 'check disk' part and I got the BSOD: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT. 0x1a When I turned it back on I pushed a key to skip the check disk, and I got another BSOD after the login screen: looks like the same one. When I turned on PC again, I used f8 to go to safe mode. It was loading drivers, then hung after windows/system 32/drivers/aswRvrt...then it it went to the login screen in normal mode. Besides the tweaking program the only other thing I did different, is that I connected a Bluetooth keyboard (it installed a driver) to make it easier on me...I'm in the RV and missing my keyboard tray. Not sure whether I should try uninstalling the tweaking program, remove the keyboard, or both! And by the way, thank you for all your time on this mess!

When I follow the link to the tweaking.com site, and click on the 'download' button, it opens another tab for Reimage, with another download button. I looked all over the Tweaking site for another download place, and finally found a list of download buttons that took me to other websites. I finally went to the one by bleepingcomputer because I've dealt with them before and downloaded from there. Just thought you should know, and advise if this is wrong....

Everytime I checked on it, it wasrunning and the numbers were changing (while it was doing this looooong diagnostic). It checked the first part, said no problem so far, do you want to continue, it will take about 87 min... I said yes, but it took a heck of a lot longer than that. I'm not sure though if it was just talking about the next 'section' of the test. When I got up it was stopped, waiting for input from me to test the speakers and microphone, then that was pretty much it and it finished. No real message, just went back to screen where you can pick what you want to run. I couldn't find a way to save or copy report (which I found by accident) but it passed except for a few things, the main one being that my right ALT key doesn't work. I'll put the error codes below, but I expect I will have to go to Dell on those. I also was able to run the SecurityCheck and will post the results below the diag error codes.
