  1. Hi AdvancedSetup: I'm not worried, I'm just annoyed that it isn't listed in the Malwarebytes v5.0 system requirements. I currently have .NET Runtime v8.0 installed on my system but I uninstalled all my unnecessary .NET Runtimes last week, including the .NET Runtime v6.0 I haven't needed since I uninstalled my Dell SupportAssist v3.x utility over a year ago. I'm just surprised to hear that the newly released Malwarebytes 5.0 requires a .NET Runtime v6.0 that reaches end of support in Nov 2024 when the current .NET Runtime v8.0 will be supported until Nov 2026 (see https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet). ------------ Dell Inspiron 15 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4170 * Firefox v124.0.2 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24020.7-1.1.24030.4 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.11.320-1.0.2302 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783
  2. Hi @AdvancedSetup : Does that mean that the Microsoft .NET Runtime v6.0.x is a system requirement for Malwarebytes v5.x and that this .NET Runtime will be installed on my system when my current Malwarebytes v4.6.x is eventually upgraded to Malwarebytes v5.x? There's no mention of a .NET Runtime in the system requirements at https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/22266192061075-System-Requirements-for-Desktop-Security. ------------ Dell Inspiron 15 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4170 * Firefox v124.0.2 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24020.7-1.1.24030.4 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.11.320-1.0.2302 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783
  3. Hi QuiGonJohn: Do you have a Win 7 SP1 OS, and does that mean that you used the Malwarebytes for Windows 4 legacy build installer described in AdvancedSetup's 23-May-2022 post in rickoz's Definitions Not Updating that can be used to install the old Malwarebytes v4.3.0.128 on a Win 7 SP1 machine that is not patched to end of support on 14-Jan-2020 and does not have the KB4474419 update (rel. 23-Sep-2019) that adds SHA-2 code signing support for digital certificates? A fully patched Win 7 SP1 OS that has KB4474419 installed (or a higher OS like Win 10 or Win 11) can use the Malwarebytes v4 offline installer at https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb4_offline. Once that installer has run to completion and Malwarbytes v4.x is updated (Settings | General | Application Updates | Check for Updates) you should have the current Malwarebytes v4.6.11.320 with component package v1.0.2302 - see the 21-Mar-2024 release notes <here>. From my Win 10 machine: If you have a Win 7 SP1 OS go to Control Panel | Programs | Programs and Features | View Installed Updates and search your installed updates to check if KB4474419 are already installed. Just make sure you search for the complete KB number (i.e., search for "KB4474419" and not "4474419"). If KB4474419 is missing then see the installation instructions in my 18-Feb-2024 post in MsN Bhatti's How to Fix Live Update Failed Error 8504, 102 in the Norton forum. Note that the latest version of Norton 360 and many other software programs will not run on a Win 7 SP1 machine unless KB4474419 is installed. ------------ Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4170 * Firefox v124.0.1 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24020.7-1.1.24020.9 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.11.320-1.0.2302 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783
  4. Hi Porthos: I understand that, but it doesn't change the fact that the current inconsistencies between the MBSetup installer version (v4.6.12.xxx) and the actual Malwarebytes program version it installs (v4.6.11.xxx) are mucking things up for customers who use anything related to winget to check for available program updates. A similar problem just happened in January 2024 when I had the latest Malwarebytes v4.6.8.311-1.0.2249 (rel. 25-Jan-2024) and winget recommended an update to v4.6.8.370, which was the version number given to the MBSetup.exe installer after a new component package v1.0.2249 was released. I still haven't heard a reasonable explanation why Malwarebytes can't use something similar to the old naming / numbering system for installers (e.g., mb4-setup-consumer-4.6.11.320-1.0.2302-1.0.82xxx.exe for the installer that installs Malwarebytes 4.6.11.320 with component package 1.0.2302). AdvancedSetup's 12-Jul-2023 post <above> implies that the current system simplifies distribution of new MBSetup.exe installers, but Malwarebytes should also consider the confusion this creates for their customers. Perhaps there needs to be re-think on this. ---------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4170 * Firefox v124.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24020.7-1.1.24020.9 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.11.320-1.0.2302 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783 * QuickInstaller (Preview) v0.3.8830.19890
  5. The inconsistent version numbering of the Malwarebytes v4.x installers continues to cause issues for me. For example, the latest full offline installer for Malwarebytes v4.6.11.320-1.0.2302 that I downloaded today from https://downloads.malwarebytes.com/file/mb4_offline is MBSetup.exe v4.6.12.399. As a result, the winget upgrade command recommends that I update Malwarebytes v4.6.11.320 to v4.6.12.399 (a version number that does not currently exist in H4V0C's Malwarebytes v4.6 release notes <here>) .... ... and software updater utilities like QuickInstaller that use winget for detecting and installing available updates also flag my current Malwarebytes installation as outdated. ---------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4170 * Firefox v124.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24020.7-1.1.24020.9 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.11.320-1.0.2302 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783 * QuickInstaller (Preview) v0.3.8830.19890
  6. Hi Porthos: If I show my dismissed items in Trusted Advisor it confirms the item for Tamper Protection that I dismissed (again) yesterday is currently hidden. but I also noticed that the General section of your Tamper Protection dashboard is missing the item for Wi-Fi Protection that shows my Wi-Fi connection is secure. I don't know if it's relevant but are you using a Win 11 OS and / or a VPN (which I don't use on my Win 10 machine) that might alter the behaviour of Trusted Advisor? ------------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4046 * Firefox v123.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24010.12-1.1.24010.10 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.9.314-1.0.2276 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783
  7. Hi Porthos: Yes, that notification setting is currently turned ON in my Malwarebytes v4.6.9. I wasn't even aware there was a notification setting for Trusted Advisor recommendations in Malwarebytes v4.x, and there's no mention of that setting in the Malwarebytes v4.x support article Notifications Settings in Malwarebytes for Windows v4. I did find the following in the Malwarebytes Desktop Security v5.x support article Manage Desktop Security Settings on Windows Devices : Was this setting recently added to Malwarebytes v4.x to improve migration to Malwarebytes v5.x, or did I just not notice it before? Based on the above description I assume that this Trusted Advisor notification setting could be used to control pop-up system tray notifications from Trusted Advisor in Malwarebytes v5.x, but it doesn't seem logical that having that setting enabled would allow Malwarebytes to silently re-enable dismissed items in Trusted Advisor without my permission. ------------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4046 * Firefox v123.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24010.12-1.1.24010.10 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.9.314-1.0.2276 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783
  8. Since updating to Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.9.314-1.0.2276 on 25-Feb-2024 Trusted Advisor has been nagging me to enable Tamper Protection (General | Tamper Protection | Limit who can change your Malwarebytes security settings) even though that item was hidden (dismissed) in Trusted Advisor in previous versions of Malwarbytes v4.x. I reported the same problem about a year ago in my topic MB v4.5.27 - Security Advisor Alerts for Tamper Protection Have Returned when that dismissed item re-enabled itself. I've dismissed that Trusted Advisor warning about Tamper Protection again so the problem is resolved for now, but I'm still curious if Malwarebytes deliberately unhides that warning on occasion to remind users their Tamper Protection is disabled, or if there's a glitch in Malwarebytes where Trusted Advisor occasionally loses track of dismissed items after a version update. Note that the attached logs were gathered after I re-hid (dismissed) the Tamper Protection warning in Trusted Advisor. mbst-grab-results.zip ------------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.4046 * Firefox v123.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.24010.12-1.1.24010.10 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.9.314-1.0.2276 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783
  9. Hi Taskman: KB5032339 is the Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 10 Version 22H2 released on 14-Nov-2023 with the November 2023 Patch Tuesdays updates (NOTE: Patch Tuesday always occurs on the second Tuesday of each month; this month's December 2023 Patch Tuesday on 12-Dec-2023 did not include a cumulative update for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1). I'm not sure, but it sounds like Windows Update has been trying to install a backlog of available updates on your system, which might have been the cause of your high CPU usage. 10. Hi Taskman: I don't have sufficient privileges to read your attached mbst-grab-results.zip file, but note that the Win 10 v22H2 Build 19045.2965 (KB5026361) was released on 09-May-2023 . If your Win 10 OS is fully patched Windows Update should have delivered the KB5033372 monthly cumulative update (rel. 12-Dec-2023) that patches your OS Build to 19045.3803. Go to Settings | Update & Security | Windows Update to see if Windows Update is trying to download / install an available update, which might explain at least some of your high CPU usage. ------------ Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3803 * Firefox v121.0.0 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23110.3-1.1.23110.2 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.6.294-1.0.2201 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7783

  12. Hi Badran: This will be my final post in this topic. Questions about MS Edge and updating your graphics drivers are off-topic and have nothing to do with your original question about discrepancies in your Ads / Trackers block counts in Malwarebytes and Malwarebytes Browser Guard. This block count glitch is a known issue that's already been reported to Malwarebytes so it's unlikely that any of the senior members in this forum that have permission to read your mb-grab-results.zip files are going to do so now and start troubleshooting issues that have nothing to do with Malwarebytes. If you want advice about problems unrelated to Malwarebytes you can post your questions in the General Windows PC Help board of this forum. Stick to one problem per topic. You can re-post your latest mb-grab-results.zip file there, but be sure to include basic information about your system such as your computer make/model, Windows operating system [include the edition (e.g., Home, Professional, etc.), version and build shown at Settings | System | About | Windows Specifications], antivirus and default browser. Include as much information about the issue you are posting about (e.g., the make and model of your graphics GPU and current driver version shown in Device Manager) for people like me that don't have permission to read your mb-grab-results.zip files. Just FYI, my Dell Inspiron 5584 has an Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU and I am currently using the graphics driver recommended on the Dell support page for my computer model even though the Intel Driver & Support Assistant utility finds a newer driver for this GPU. As a general rule, I only use hardware drivers recommended by Dell for my system that I know have been certified for my Dell BIOS as long as the driver isn't causing an issue (e.g., like your broken transparency effects). Before updating any hardware driver be sure you know how to roll back the driver to the previous version per the ElevenForum tutorial Roll Back Device Driver to Previous Version in Windows 11 just in case your new driver causes unexpected problems. Multiple Windows 11 users have recently reported that Microsoft Edge (msedge.exe) continues to run in the background after Edge is closed, even if the Edge settings for Startup Boost and running of background extensions and apps are turned OFF at Settings | System and Performance | System (see image below) and toggling those two settings ON and back OFF again doesn't fix the problem. If you have a Windows 11 OS see Panlo's 01-Oct-2023 Why is Edge Running in the Background After Copilot Installation? in the Microsoft Answers Edge for Windows 11 board as well as Megahertz's 22-Nov-2023 Edge Remans Running in the ElevenForum's Browsers and Mail board for more information. ----------- 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3693 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23100.2009-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.6.294-1.0.2189 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v120.0 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.93 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.15 Dell Inspiron 15 5584, Intel i5-8265U CPU, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB Toshiba KBG40ZNS256G NVMe SSD, Intel UHD Graphics 620
  13. Hi Badran: Click the "more information" icons (circle with "i" inside) as shown below. The support article Trusted Advisor in Malwarebytes for Windows v4 notes the Trusted Advisor feature had nothing to do with blocking or removal of malware and just gives general suggestions about how you can improve the overall security of your system. Those suggestions are for information only and you can ignore (dismiss) them if you want. For example, if I click the "See Details" button on my dashboard next to my Trusted Advisor score I can see I have dismissed the Trusted Advisor suggestion to turn on automatic product updates in my Malwarbytes settings. I have deliberately turned OFF this setting in Malwarebytes at Settings | General | Application Updates | Automatically Download and Install Updates (just a personal preference - I like to wait until release notes are published before I install a product update) and don't want Trusted Advisor nagging me to turn on this setting so I've just dismissed this Trusted Advisor warning. As others have noted in this thread, discrepancies in the Ad/Tracker block count between Malwarebytes Premium and Malwarebytes Browser Guard is a long-standing issue. It's a minor glitch that doesn't affect your system security (Malwarebytes Web Protection and Malwarebytes Browser Guard will continue to protect your system while you're browsing the internet, even if the block counts differ between the two products) and finding a fix isn't a high priority for Malwarebytes. For example, the support article Duplicate Blocks in Firefox with Malwarebytes for Windows v4 integration with Browser Guard states "No current resolution at this time as we continue to investigate this issue". As I said before, these monthly summary reports are just a marketing gimmick, and you can see your detection history any time you want by clicking the Detection History panel on your main dashboard - see the support article View Reports and History in Malwarebytes for Windows v4 for more information. If you need detailed information about blocking of malicious / suspicious web sites (which is not the same as the blocking of relatively harmless ads and trackers) you can click the Notification (bell) icon in the top-right corner of your Malwarebytes user interface as shown below to see the IP address of the blocked site and the date the block occurred, but again, that's not something you need to check unless you suspect that your Web Protection module isn't working correctly. If you turn off your monthly reports (see my images below) you'll continue to see important notifications pop-up in your system tray if Malwarebytes blocks or removes a threat. If you aren't comfortable turning off your monthly reports then you can try a clean reinstall of Malwarebytes as instructed in the Uninstall and Reinstall Malwarebytes Using the Malwarebytes Support Tool (be sure you have written down you product activation key before you start if you're going to try this) and hope this gets the Ad/Tracker counter working again in your monthly report, but a clean reinstall is not something I would advise for a minor glitch like this. You can also can submit a formal support request at https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and see what Customer Support advises if your inaccurate Ad / Tracker block counts are really bothering you. ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3693 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23100.2009-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.6.294-1.0.2189 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v120.0 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.93 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.15
  14. Hi Badran: Is there any evidence that your Malwarebytes Premium is not working correctly, other than that odd glitch you reported in your original post about your Malwarebytes Premium v4.x realtime protection statistics showing a count of "0" for Ads/Trackers blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.x? As I said before, I don't have sufficient privilege in this forum to view your mb-grab-results.zip file, but even if I did there are multiple Malwarebytes and FRST (Farbar Recovery Scan Tool) files and diagnostic logs bundled inside that .zip file, and I would need to know exactly what was broken in Malwarebytes so I had some idea where to start looking in those diagnostic logs. Please provide a status update on your original problem. Do you have the latest Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.6.294-1.0.2189 (rel. 09-Nov-2023) and Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.15 (rel. 15-Nov-2023), and when you look at the 30-day statistics for your Malwarebytes v4.x realtime protection does it still say that Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocked "0" Ads/Trackers? If your only obvious problem is that the count of your Ads/Trackers doesn't match in the 30-day statistics of Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.6 and Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.15 then you'll have to decide for yourself if you want to try a clean reinstall of one or both programs to try to get them back in sync. A clean reinstall would require you to re-configure all your custom settings, and I personally wouldn't bother for such a minor glitch. As I said in my 08-Nov-2023 post <here>, the number of blocked Ads/Trackers in the 30-day reports doesn't provide any useful information and is just a marketing gimmick as far as I'm concerned. Since I posted my last set of images <here> on 08-Nov-2023 both my Malwarebytes Premium and Malwarebytes Browser Guard have received updates, but as of today I still see a huge discrepancy in the number of Ads/Trackers blocked in the 30-day statistics for those programs. 18. Hi Badran: See my post # 2603400 in Susan Bradley's Ready for Thanksgiving updates? in the AskWoody forum about my Nov 2023 Patch Tuesday Updates, including my comments about the Remote Desktop Connection app that appeared at Settings | Apps | Apps and Features. As I noted in that post, I confirmed that Settings | System | Remote Desktop | Enable Remote Desktop is still disabled on my system so I'm just going to leave that app installed for now until I know why it was installed in the first place. According to Alex5723's post # 2603430 in that thread the Remote Desktop Connection app might have been pushed out in advance of release of the new Windows App (currently in preview / beta) that is described in the Microsoft Learn support article What is Windows App?. However, I'm not sure that's correct since the 15-Nov-2023 Neowin article Microsoft releases new "Windows App," GPU support, passwordless SSO, MSIX app attach, more states that "the Windows App has nothing to do with consumer Windows and everything to do with the enterprise." As far as I know the new Microsoft PC Manager (still in preview / beta) that is intended for home consumers will not require a remote desktop connection. I should also mention that it’s not unusual for my Patch Tuesday updates to pause for long periods of time on my Win 10 Pro v22H2 machine , especially when the monthly cumulative Quality Update is downloading or installing. I always check at Settings | Update & Security | Windows Update and confirm that every update that requires a re-boot to complete the installation has a status of “Pending Restart” before clicking the “Restart Now” button, and my Patch Tuesday updates often take over 40 min to run to completion. ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3693 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23100.2009-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.6.294-1.0.2189 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v119.0.1 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.72 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.13
  19. Hi @Porthos / @David H. Lipman: None of this addresses the OP Badran's concern. If the 30-day report in the RTP panel of Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5 includes the count of Ads / Trackers blocked by both Malwarebytes Browser Guard and Malwarebytes real-time Web Protection as you both surmise then why does Badran's 30-day report have a count of zero as shown in their image <above>? I don't have permission to view their mbst-grab-results.zip file so I have no idea which Malwarebytes product (Free or Premium) Badran is using and/or whether their real-time Web Protection is enabled in Malwarebytes. I only posted my own images <above> today so Badran could see that my count of blocked Ads / Trackers in my Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5 30-day report is not zero. One of the senior members of this forum who can read the contents of their mbst-grab-results.zip file will have to tell them if their Malwarebytes installation is corrupted. ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v119.0.1 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.44 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.13
  20. Hi David H. Lipman: Then Malwarebytes needs to add an explanation in the 30-day report Malwarebytes Premium of how the total number of blocked Ads / Trackers is calculated. In its present state that RTP 30-day report implies this is the number of Ads / Trackers blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard, not Malwarebytes Browser Guard plus Malwarebytes Premium Web Protection. ____________________________________ Do you know when the "Hide Duplicate Warnings" setting was removed from Malwarebytes Browser Guard? The removal of that settings doesn't appear to be documented in the release notes at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/malwarebytes/versions/ and I've never been clear on whether Malwarebytes Premium Web Protection or Malwarebytes Browser Guard takes precedence for blocking when both products are installed. ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v119.0.1 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.44 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.13
  21. HI Porthos: However, that's not an excuse for having different block counts in Malwarebytes Premium vs Malwarebytes Browser Guard. If Malwarebytes thinks it's important to report the number of Ads / Trackers blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard then the count should be similar in both products, regardless of where the user chooses to check their 30-day report. ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v119.0.1 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.44 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.13
  22. Hi Porthos: Is there a bug fix for this problem in MB v4.6.6? As a general rule I don't update Malwarebytes until the official release notes are posted, and H4V0C's release notes at Malwarebytes 4.6 Beta haven't been updated since the v4.6.4.286-1.0.2163 BETA was released on 28-Sep-2023. I'm not overly concerned that there's a discrepancy in the number of Ads / Trackers blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard in Malwarebytes Premium. Knowing the count of Malware and Scams blocked is useful, but as far as I'm concerned the number of Ads / Trackers blocked doesn't provide any useful information and is more of a marketing gimmick. ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v119.0.1 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.44 * Malwarebytes Browser Guard v2.6.13
  23. Hi Badran: You are correct. The Nov 2023 Patch Tuesday (2nd Tuesday of each month) doesn't occur until next week on 14-Nov-2023. The KB5031445 update shown in Portho's image <above> was the optional Preview (Build 19045.3636) released last month on 26-Oct-2023. See the MS support article Update Release cycle for Windows Clients for more information on the release cycle for Windows updates. I also see a discrepancy between the 30-day statistics for Ad / Trackers blocked by Malwarebytes Browser Guard according to Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5, but in my case Malwarebytes Premium appears to over-report the number of Ads / Trackers blocked... ... which is higher than the count in Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Firefox v2.6.13 . I rarely use my MS Edge browser but it has Malwarebytes Browser Guard for Chrome v2.6.13 (i.e., downloaded from the Chrome Web Store) and it currently reports only 18 Ads / Trackers blocked in the past 30 days. mbst-grab-results.zip ----------- Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23100.2009 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690 * Firefox v119.0.1 * Microsoft Edge v119.0.2151.44
  24. Hi D4rKy: Please read some of the later posts in this thread. This problem is caused by a new policy implemented by YouTube and has nothing to do with Malwarebytes. Users who do not have Malwarebytes installed on their computer have the same problem. ------------ Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Firefox v119.0.0 * Microsoft Edge v118.0.2088.76 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23090.2007 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690
  25. Hi D4rKy You might want to monitor NaNoNyMouse's 13-Oct-2023 AskWoody thread “Ad blockers are not allowed on YouTube” . Someone posted there today about a browser extension called FadBlock (Friendly Adblock for YouTube) that is available in the Firefox Add-ons repository and Chrome Web Store that might provide a workaround for this problem. See Martin Brinkmann's 28-Oct-2023 review on the ghacks.net site at This special YouTube Adblocker skips ads instead of blocking them. I don't see FadBlock listed in Microsoft's Edge Add-ons store at https://microsoftedge.microsoft.com/addons/Microsoft-Edge-Extensions-Home but if view your installed extensions in MS Edge (type edge://extensions/ in the address bar) and turn on Allow Extensions From Other Stores as instructed in the MS support article Add, turn off, or remove extensions in Microsoft Edge then this will allow you to install any extension from the Chrome Web Store. Note that I haven't tried this FadBlock extension myself but early feedback in NaNoNyMouse's AskWoody thread sounds positive. ------------ Dell Inspiron 5584 * 64-bit Win 10 Pro v22H2 build 19045.3570 * Firefox v119.0.0 * Microsoft Edge v118.0.2088.76 * Microsoft Defender v4.18.23090.2008-1.1.23090.2007 * Malwarebytes Premium v4.6.5.293-1.0.2181 * Macrium Reflect Free v8.0.7690
