  1. An AV that has highest detection rate is NOT always the best one. The best AV is the one that you found to be easy to use, and you likes it. This is why many people are using Defender even though researches show that it is weaker than leading AV likes Kaspersky, because it is included in the OS, free to use and no annoying ads.
  2. Weston1973, Just checked the topics that you started, it looks like you're a spammer trying to make everyone think that Malwarebytes is not a legal company. Everyone has own opinion regarding which AV is the best. I run Windows Defender and MB 3.0 Pro for years without any issues.
  3. I just built a new PC with i5-6400 2.7 GHz and can get up to 3.3 GHz with Turbo Boost. Already running for few days but I notice that the clock speed never get past 2.7 GHz no matter how many cores is active, the temp usually lower than 40C and reaches 60C with stress test. Already reset the BIOS and it is still same. Turbo Boost settings is set to Auto in BIOS. The processor is locked but I can set the multiplier to max 33x, default is 27x. I would want to disable turbo boost and set the multiplier to 33x to make use of increased clock speed. Is it safe to do this?
  4. Thank you guys for the help. So , what happen if I go from single-channel to dual-channel?
  5. His PC RAM has same speed as me, 1600MHz, but more expensive then my RAM. My RAM timings is 11-11-11-28 by default, so I want to reduce the timings to become 9-9-9-24 in BIOS. Are you sure I am not going to get any improvement? If I buy RAM with 9-9-9-24 timings by default (ex: Corsair Vengeance RAM), will I notice the improvement?
  6. My PC has 8GB of RAM 1600MHz and has timings 11-11-11-28. My friends PC has same speed RAM but has timings 9-9-9-24 which is faster in speed. I want to change the timings to 9-9-9-24 in BIOS but I afraid it will cause instability or not boot. Do you guys think that this will cause PC to not boot? (I'm not familiar in reset the CMOS)
  7. Thank all for the help. I already ordered this SSD and plan to reinstall Windows 10 and W10 Insider(Dual boot)on the SSD to start fresh and use HDD to store data. I don't need a GPU right now, maybe later I will buy a GTX 750 or better one.
  8. I usually surf the Internet, using MS Excel or Word and other simple tasks on my old PC. In this new PC I start using CPU intensive apps like Photoshop, and light gaming. (I don't need a dedicated GPU right now) I don't need 250GB SSD because I have a 500GB HDD for storing data. Does the HDD bottleneck the whole system, causing it to run slower than it should be?
  9. I build a new PC some weeks ago because the old PC is too slow. I feel like it is not as fast as I want. I think the HDD is bottle necking the system but I'm not sure, maybe other part, here is the PC specs: CPU: Core i5 4460 3.2 GHz Haswell RAM: ADATA 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Mobo: Gigabyte GA-H81M-DS2 GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4600 Storage: 500GB HDD 7200 RPM If the HDD is bottle necking the world system, should I buy a SSD? (The SSD I plan to buy is Samsung 850 EVO 120GB)
  10. Three OS are on the same PC. I already clean installed Windows 10 (see first post) but it won't work. Your PC also has this problem?
  11. Hi Refresh the hiberfil.sys doesn't fix. I run powercfg -a and the output is same as you. Screenshot:
  12. Thank you both. pbust, I want to get the maximum protection from MBAE, so I just tick all?
  13. I have question about the settings of MBAE, what is: Log protection events Show notification traybar tooltips And what is the advanced settings, is it safe to make changes to it? Thank!
  14. Thank you CliffS. In Windows 7 and 8, the process only takes 10-15 seconds, but in 10 it takes 2-3 minutes, there should have some problems when hibernate. How to fix this?
