  1. I did, same result. But turns out "chkdsk c:" was able to fix it, this thread can safely be deleted now, thanks.

Hello malwarebytes community, I have been having problems installing most programs for a long time, but yesterday was when I finally decided to look into it, and I have found that the system folder "CONFIG.MSI" is corrupt and unreadable rendering programs unable to read/write necessary temporary files there in order to install the program properly, I have already tried deleting it via cmd. Tells me it's unreadable and corrupt, and this community has been very helpful to me in the past (thank you.) and I want to know if you can yet again help me fix it without risking to delete my files/damage them? I also have a job interview tomorrow and I'd like to have this fixed today. Thanks in advance.
