  1. Ok, but Webroot did finally recognize it as malware & quarantine it. This was audio only advertisement--it did not have any visual connection to any ads playing on web pages. This was downloaded on my computer. Just to clarify.
  2. Hi guys! I thought I would drop a line to let you know that I developed an irritating internet audio ad malware program the other night, and when I scanned my computer with MWBP and Webroot, both scans came up clean! I took Microsoft's advice and checked my auto startup programs, and noticed a AERTSr64.exe that was not there before, so I disabled it. Audio ads stopped. When I had more time tonight, I had Webroot actually find that specific file and scan it, which prompted a system scan, which resulted in several more files finally being found & quarantined. My computer is now clean. I did a little more research on AERTSr64.exe, and that seems to be a legit REALTEK file from awhile ago, but I was wondering if there is a new malware that is masquerading as that file & similar REALTEK files so that MWBP doesn't recognize them as malware. I am not super savvy when it comes to computer bugs (just enough to keep me out of trouble most of the time), so I hope my assumption doesn't seem silly. I just wanted someone to be aware that if so, this seems to be a sneaky little bugger that flew under the radar of 2 good programs! Thanks guys.
