  1. From 1 to 4 times a week for the past 6 months I have to uninstall and reinstall Malwarebytes to get it to run after receiving an error message that says "MBAM Service has terminated unexpectedly". However, today after this message when I reinstalled MBAM I got the message "The current database is not supported by this version of Malwarebytes Anti Malware. Please download the latest version of the program." The installer I have is for version 1.50.1.1100 and I have been unable to locate a later version of the program. I am running Windows 7 Pro x64 and also run Avast Internet Security. I really would like to get MBAM up and running again. Any advice anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I was wondering where I should post a request for help with my problem and if I need to run DDS and GMER and post their logs. My problem is as follows: I have MBAM Pro installed and it runs correctly updating and running a nightly quick scan according to my settings. Every few mornings instead of finding a successful scan log on the computer screen I find the error message "MBAM_ERROR_LOAD_DATABASE (0,5). The MBAM protection module icon is still on my taskbar and I can right click on it and check for updates but if I try and start MBAM from the taskbar icon or from my start menu I get the same error. A restart of the computer results in the message "MBAM Service terminated unexpectantly" and MBAM does not and will not run. If I uninstall MBAM (via Control Panel-Programs and Features) and then re-install MBAM, it works fine and will complete scans etc. for a few more days until the error reappears. I am running Windows 7 x64 with MBAM Pro and Avast Internet Security. Can anyone suggest where and how I should go about trying to find a solution to this issue?
  3. The new database fixed it. Thanks for the quick response. MBAM and it's support are the best out there!
  4. The zipped setup.exe file from the Intel disk is attached. Can you help me determine if the registry key listed as a Trojan.Dropper is a problem or if it is false positive? setup.zip
  5. MBAM's full scan detects 2 objects as "Trojan.Dropper". Quick Scan does not detect them. One is a file and one is a registry key. The file is a file from my Intel Motherboard Setup Disk that I have saved on my computer It has never been flagged before despite multiple full scans of it in the past so it I suspect it is a false positive. I'm not sure about the registry key though. I updated the MBAM database and the full scan result was the same. I ran MBAM in developer mode and the log is attached. I have taken no action at this time. When I ran MBAM in developer mode the program started but only after a error message appeared. The error code was 700 (0, 0) mbam_log_2010_01_10__09_01_24_.zip
  6. I ran ATF-Cleaner and tried a Quick Scan again. It doesn't seem to have helped. The scan is still moving along at about the same pace as before. Could the fact that I encrypted my notebook hard drive have anything to do with it?
  7. I installed the paid version of MBAM on my desktop, my notebook, my daughters desktop and my mother-in-laws desktop. MBAM's quick scans run in just a few minutes on all of the computers except my notebook. The registry and file scans complete in just a few minutes but the "extra and heuristics" portion of the scan continues for about an hour on my notebook. I have the exact same files and configuration on my desktop and notebook (I travel every week and it is simply a portable version of my desktop). The notebook has a AMD Athlon Dual Core X2 QL-60 processor with 2 GB of RAM with Window XP Service Pack 3 and is fairly fast with all the programs I run. Avast antivirus, MBAM and Spybot scans are all clean. Does anybody know why the MBAM quick scan might be taking so much longer on my notebook.
  8. @mountaintree16 Thanks for the suggestions. Will I need to purchase a separate license for each of my home computers?
  9. I have been using the free version of Malwarebytes and Spybot Search and Destroy and have been using Spybot's Resident Protection . If I upgrade to the paid version of Malwarebytes with it's Resident Protection can I still use Spybot's Resident Protection or should I only run Resident Protection from Malwarebytes?
