  1. Basically what I downloaded had a .exe and .jar file; and the .exe ran the .jar file and upon doing so is when Avira detected the "backdoor". Should be okay then? Thanks.
  2. Upon downloading something earlier, the anti-virus program I'm using (Avira) detected and immediately put it into quarantine from where I deleted it. File name that was causing it was svchostinst.exe which I searched up on Google and returned two results, both from the forums here within logs where one seemed to be a backdoor so now I'm a little worried. I downloaded MalwareBytes and ran a scan and nothing showed up in the scan. I'm not entirely sure how much impact it could've had since the anti-virus immediately picked it up, and MB returned nothing in the scan. There have been no noticeable issues with my laptop since picking it up. Should I be cautious and try something else to see if anything has been affected? Thanks.
