I was implying that some I5's are equal to older I7's but use less power and then Intel discontinues those I7 cores As intel raises the bar the I5/I7 designation changes/is fluid

My vote was determined by how an AV interfers with malware removal, and did it fully protect users?

80mm or 8cm is the diameter of a mini cd? Even a 54mm card bus slot would be too small?

Do you honestly believe we can continue to mess with Mother Nature at an ever accelerating rate and not upset delicate balances? That's a good rationalization for living for today and to hell with future generations. -
It probably won't work but it's always worth a try in a rather hopeless situation like this. She will probably have to do a clean install

Windows 7 Family Pack to make a comeback in October
DaChew replied to Haider's topic in General Chat
Who has 3 computers with Vista installed? The family pack would apply then, but it would be even more unusual to have XP computers that could run Windows 7 and I would still have to wonder why someone would pay 50$ for a new OS on an older computer, much less 3 of them. -
Can I add space too my hard drive via removable memory?
DaChew replied to bubbleboi's topic in General Windows PC Help
From my own experience with XP and a 15 gig system partition, I would think the windows folder would need some drastic cleanup. If MS expects to see Windows 7 on these netbooks I hope they do a better job of maintaining OS size after updates than they did with XP. -
The right side of your taskbar is reserved for programs running resident, the paid protection module for MBAM runs there. The free scanner only MBAM will not run resident.

Might be very dangerous File sharing is a great way to distribute malware/infections. Never assume that an AntiVirus will catch all bad files, some are too new. -

The actual infection starts when you insert the usb drive, that's why you need to be protected Please download Flash_Disinfector.exe by sUBs and save it to your desktop. Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it and follow any prompts that may appear. The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well. Hold down the Shift key when inserting the drive until Windows detects it to keep autorun.inf from executing if it is present. Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program. Reboot your computer when done. Note: As part of its routine, Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive that was plugged in when you ran it. Do not delete this folder...it will help protect your drives from future infection by keeping the autorun file from being installed on the root drive and running other malicious files. It's quite complicated tho http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ind...t&p=1389354

With an old 2.2GHz single core MBAM only pushes the CPU the first 30 seconds then settles down to ~50% after that, it does seem to thrash my 10K raptor jusdging by the HD lite and sound.

Judging by the amount of spam my yahoo box received this last year and the fact that I never used it except to register for a security forum, I wonder what was the problem? Maybe they are trying to tighthen security up?
