No i have a AV program running and it hasnt found anything.I was walked through the reinstall by dell and the checked to make sure it was clean.I'm so tired of working on this computer and paying other all the time.i dont understand where the malware would come from.i havent used the pc that much and it was to send out some emails and look up a phone #.

@mountaintree i have eset smart security so i dont know.i know they are really strict and have stopped me from loading certain things.is there a tool i need to remove malwarebytes???i cant get rid of it

@exile yeah i just did a restore cause i deleted it and it messed with something.all my drives have been reinstalled as was the O/S so im being paranoid i think lol.i got a few trojans in the last few months.thanks for the advice.its appreciated.im not a total novice but no pro either

@noknojon diffeent topic so i figured i'd start another threat lol.Its not that I like it,its what im used to.never heard of opera though.I think its just re learning a new browser that bothers me.after downloading,say firefox,do i replace that as my default in the internet setting in the control panel?and what happens to all my IE updates etc..?and like i said,would the security features interfere with my AV program i have installed?I know firefox has some of its own

I've heard so much positive feedback from firefox but havent taken the dive yet.my concern is its antivirus and spyware abilities conflicting with my AV program i have installed and am very happy with.Is it really better than IE or is it just a matter of oppinion?

@mountaintree. yeah my gf gave me a book called a quotationary for my birthday.its the size of a dictionary lol.has everything and anything from everybody in it.yeah i just restored my system and wont wont mess with anything for now.its not hurting anything really.well thanks for the help.staples does a free tune up and scan but they keep the pc for up to 2 weeks.may be worth it though.everything is reinstalled as far as drives and the os.I'm sure its fine.just need to have someone clear out the registry if needed.

not sure if it got it out but it seemed to remove some excess stuff.maybe download cclean again?I'm still learning all this stuff and could use the help.I already dished out too much getting rid of 3 different viruses that 3 programs let through

those are the ones i used to uninstall the regular program.i downloaded the highjack this seperate to find out it wasnt compatible with the 64bit system i run.should i just re run one of those?thanks for the welcome and the fast response though

I used their AV product then removed it with the tool.i ran cclean and still see that highjack this is still in the registry.i'm not sure if its attached to anything important or not.any ideas?
