  1. For the past few weeks, I keep getting popups every few minutes from Internet Explorer saying things like "An error has occured in the script on this page." (see the attachemented screenshots) Sometimes I even hear "audio" ads in the background. But I never see the "websites" that are being visited. The odd thing is that I don't even use Internet Explorer at all (I use Firefox, and sometimes Chrome). If I <Ctrl-Alt-Del> to see the process list, iExplorer is not in the list (see attachement), even when those popups are the active window. If I run a scan with MalwareBytes, it does not find any malware (see attached log). But something is obviously running internet explorer and visiting a list of websites in the background. If I look at the history in IE, I can see that today, there were about 20-30 pages visited, even though I did not even use ie. So what do I do? How do I find the program that is using IE to visit pages, and how do I remove it? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. mbam-log-2011-04-27 (10-42-03).txt
