As some of you may know, there's been a bit of a debate surrounding the absence of the traditional Start menu and the Start button in the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Today, Microsoft has posted up a new entry on its Windows blog site that offers up some tips and tricks with using Windows 8. It also offers up a defense (kind of) for the company getting rid of the previous Start button and menu.

What a piece of junk. Windows will always cause headaches and user frustration as they take the user out of consideration and do everything with a corporate mindset.

I have used the Windows 8 preview and I must say it does not appear to be designed for a desktop at all. More likely it was designed for a touchscreen. The no Start button was a HUGE turn off to me when I went to use it. That and trying to find a way to power down the machine seemed to be a huge mystery for so I cannot image what it will be like for the common user.
