New PCEU Scam Trojan attack - Help needed to remove it please

Recommended Posts

Hi, erm, have to hold my hands up to say that I was surfing the web and I of course, was wanting to look at a porn video.

I suddenly was attacked by PCEU which locked my computer and demanded £100 GBP, having another computer, I checked and saw it is a trojan. After initial shock, and yes, seeing this message come up and feeze your computer, give you a great big fright, I recovered myself, and then went to get my usb stick and plugged it in, I was able to access this computer and I am posting on here for further assistance. I have not done anything yet at all. So any help would be grateful, if you want to try fixing this new trojan. I only did factory reset last monday and was installing my programs and got my graphics card drivers and mouse drivers fixed today, and sadly, next step was going to be the microsoft security essentials, but too late.. My bad. Sorry to have to come on and request help but hope you can please.

Expensive lessen learned about surfing and getting dodgy downloads, eh?

What Windows version is this?

Did you follow your OEM (pc) manufacturer's instructions for a factory restore?

Also, when doing that, you must have the computer completely disconnected from the internet until after (a) the factory restore is completed AND

(b) the antivirus program installed, setup, and updated fully

and {c} your anti-malware app installed (hopefully in your case, MBAM)

btw, you need to have MSE & MBAM setup programs at-hand on a new (clean) USB-thumb-flash drive or burned to CD so that you can run their setup right after the factory restore AND before you reconnect the pc to the internet.

I may suggest you do-over the factory restore with those tips in mind.
