AppRemover appears to be able to remove some security applications that have trouble removing on their own and I've had users use it before.

However, one needs to be careful about using the AppRemover application and watch how you install it.

I would choose the Custom Installatin (Advanced) and then uncheck everything and then click on the No installation - I only want to run AppRemover

A better soulution if possible though would be to obtain a manual removal tool if needed from the Security Vendor of the application you're trying to remove.

Just thought I would update this a bit.

 

Opswat AppRemover no longer asks to install anything extra.

 

Oddly enough, it is still labeled as version 3.0

 

As Ron said earlier, in most cases you are likely better off using the manufacturer's removal tool, but it's nice to have something else in your pocket to at least try too.
