scan times

7 posts in this topic

Recently a quick scan is taking well over an hour when it used to take five minutes, I reinstalled and there was no change. Has anyone else had this problem? I think it is related to version 1.34

What is the system CPU type and speed plus how much RAM does the system have?

What is the anti virus application you are running?

pentium 4 3,4 ghz 3gb ram avast, I just did a scan in safe mode and it was less than 6 minutes so what does that tell me? never had any conflict with avast before; as it is, I can't use MB because the scan takes too long!

I discovered that the problem is Spyware Doctor, when I disabled SD, MBAM completed the quick scan in the usual time.

That makes sense, Spyware Doctor is pretty CPU intensive, especially when it's monitoring other processes (like MBAM's scanning engine).
