ZoneAlarm compatibilty question

Recommended Posts

Hello

As I'm running ZoneAlarm at the same time as well as AM Premium I am extremely concerned that they may conflict with each other during realtime scan.

Let's say a something bad is detected, Malwarebytes and Zonealarm may compete over cleanup.

What I have done so far is exclude the process from each other so they don't get tangled up.

Malwarebytes Process exclusions:
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\ZoneAlarm\ThreatEmulation.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\ZoneAlarm\vsmon.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\ZoneAlarm\ZAPrivacyService.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\AKL\AkSA.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\AKL\AkSVC.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\AntiTheft\Antitheft.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\CheckPoint\ZoneAlarm\ZATray.exe

ZoneAlarm Process Exclusions:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbam.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamscheduler.exe
C:\Program Files (x86)\Malwarebytes Anti-Malware\mbamservice.exe

Anything else I should do?

Thanks

Alex

Sorry I have a followup.

How does malwarebytes know not to get in the way of the virus scanner. Does it have a database of known legitimate antivirus processes?

Also if I just exclude anyway as per the first post, will there be any harmful effects? ie it might actually cause conflicts? I seem to have a performance improvement when I do so would like to keep it.

Thanks.
