Is it necessary to Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware?

Recommended Posts

Hello and :welcome: :

Short answer: No.

You are correct, anti-rootkit ("ARK") scanning has been incorporated into MBAM.

See here for more information: https://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.php?/topic/170229-anti-root-kit-beta/

And MBAR BETA is just that -- a "Beta" tool.  Its use is not routinely recommended for home users, without expert guidance.

If you think you might be infected, I suggest that you might want to please follow the advice in this pinned topic: Available Assistance For Possibly Infected Computers.
It explains the options for free, expert help >>AND<< the suggested, preliminary steps to expedite the process.
A malware analyst will assist you with looking into your issue - the helper will guide you through scanning and cleanup.

Thanks,
