It is BS.

Think about all those people and businesses hit with ransomware.

What about all those Brazilians who have had their monetary funds drained.

What about those people who have succumbed to Identity Theft because their PII was harvested.

People and businesses have been hit by some really devastating malware which have generated Billions in monetary losses, hundreds of thousands of corrective man-hours, years of credit degradation and the many years of getting their personal and corporate lives back in order.

Google is the 800 pound gorilla in the room that throws its weight around in an Alpha Male Intimidation Dance.

They are two different classes and should not be compared.

One can also point to a skewed analysis.  When one is hit by devastating malware they may not take their computer to a Brick and Mortar service shop but seek other remedies.

To throw a Monkey Wrench into the discussion, Google is a part of the PUP problem by bundling the Google; Toolbar, Chrome, Earth and other software with non-associated software.
