We are pleased to announce the public beta program for Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac 1.2.5 is now open!

This version of Anti-Malware for Mac has a number of under-the-hood improvements:

  • enhancements to engine to allow improved detection of new threats
  • added capability to detect threats in all user folders
  • fixed bug that could cause a crash under rare circumstances, if bad data is received from the update server
  • cleaned up log file to remove duplicate entries
  • dropped support for Mac OS X 10.8

For those who are interested in trying out this beta, we do encourage you to install it in non-production environments for testing purposes only.

You can download the beta from here:

https://downloads.malwarebytes.org/file/mbam_for_mac_beta

Simply open the downloaded disk image (.dmg) file, then drag Malwarebytes Anti-Malware into the Applications folder.

As with previous versions, Anti-Malware for Mac 1.2.5 has a helper tool, and that helper tool will need to be updated. Thus, when you open the beta for the first time, you will be prompted for a password to install the updated helper tool.

If you find any problems or have feedback, please post on this forum, not on the Malware Removal for Mac or Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac forums.

We look forward to hearing from you!
