I just ran a scan on my Vista 32bit which I rarely use and it suddenly came up with one "Trojan."

Thret - Trojan Agent

Type File

Location C:\Program Data\Temp\Raidt.exe

And then a little box appeared in bottom right of screen saying that one threat was found. But when I clicked on it to close it appears to have now locked my computer. I can't use the mouse so I guess I will just have to manually close down the Vista.

What's going on? Does anyone know?

Hello,

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

  • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  • Press Scan button. button.

  • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.

  • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

Are these what you wanted? I am not too familiar with all of computer technology, etc.

Also, now, all of a sudden my screen keeps locking, or the computer keeps turning off by itself and then restarting, then message that machine did not shut down successfully. This has all happened today including the MB finding that one "Trojan" item.

The Vista keeps turning off and on by itself every few minutes. I don' know what is going on. I also notice some items listed as pornlink and sexlinks in the addition text. I don't know what they are. I don't go to porn or sex links. What is going on?

Add on to above. My Vista now is turning off by itself every 20 minutes and then turning on with that notice "didn't sign off successfully, etc."  I hardly ever use this Vista and haven't touched the sleep or turn off, etc. functions since I've had it. Again I ask, what is going on?

Your computer doesn't seem infected. It would help if you attach MalwareBytes report that shows detected file.

Also make sure to update MalwareBytes to the latest database, this detection is fixed by now.

And I saw some unexpected shutdowns messages in your reports. When is it happening?

I sent you the reports you requested.

As I mentioned, my Vista notebook was turning off and on by itself. l read somewhere that this might be caused by the fan being covered. I moved the Vista so the fan wasn't covered and now it doesn't seem to shut down and turn on any more.

I reinstalled RaidTest from quarantine and then I ran another scan and nothing showed and therefore believe the RaidTest was false/positive. Correct?
