Does Malwarebytes protect email

5 posts in this topic

Hi, I recently registered for full protection and have a couple of questions please;

1) Does it protect email

2) Does it protect against spy-ware (I currently have Spybot - do I need to keep running it?)

Thank you and Happy New Year,

Chris

1) It doesn't protect your email.

2) Malwarebytes is - as Spybot - an anti-spyware and anti-malware software. This means it does detect and remove harmful software from your hard drive.

Happy New Year to you

Malware from email is no different from malware from any other source so yes, we will block malicious email attachments if you attempt to execute them.

Malwarebytes will not remove the actual attachment from the email but as it cant be executed, this is the lesser of the two points.

Most of the anti virus softwares protects you against the malicious emails. It doesn't matter which anti virus software you use, use the one you feel most comfortable with(which gives you 0 problems, etc). It is recommended to use an anti virus software from either Eset, Comodo, Kaspersky or Norton.
