Slow Internet, Possibly Still Infected

Recommended Posts

I have already gotten rid of a Windows Security Alerts virus, but I think I might still be infected with something, as the internet is still slow. I have been trying to run the ESET Online Scanner for two days now. Despite trying nearly every suggestion on the internet I could find, I still keep getting the "Unexpected Error 2002" and "Cannot get update. Is proxy configured?" problems.

Logs for Malwarebytes, ComboFix, and GMER are below and attached. Also, I can't run DDS.

Hi and welcome to Malwarebytes.

Please update MBAM, run a Quick Scan, and post its log.

Download OTL.exe by OldTimer to your Desktop.

  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe.
  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.
  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.
  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.

Please describe the issues you are experiencing, in detail.

When I say slow internet, I mean that my downloading speed is only in bytes or kilobytes per second, despite having a cable connection. And this is after I stopped using the hardware accelerator. It takes a long time for some images to load and it takes forever for videos to load. Normally downloading wouldn't take that long, I only noticed this problem in the past month or so.
